Iowa Valley Community School District is proud to offer two district-supported preschool programs at Iowa Valley Elementary. These programs provide a nurturing and engaging environment with high-quality learning activities and enriching experiences designed to support the growth and development of every child.
4-YEAR-OLD PRESCHOOL
- Children must be four years old on or before September 15th.
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 8:00 AM - 11:20 AM OR 12:00 PM - 3:20 PM
- FREE of charge
3-YEAR-OLD PRESCHOOL
- Children must be three years old on or before September 15th
- Monday & Wednesday OR Tuesday & Thursday from 8:00 AM - 11:20 AM
- $100.00 per month, preschool tuition scholarships are available
Due to space constraints, there are no guarantees of preferred day and/or time placement.
Iowa County Transportation offers transportation to preschool for children within Iowa County. Enrollment forms and will be posted annually on the Iowa County Transportation website ahead of the school year. A Few Highlights:
- PERSONALIZED LEARNING: One-on-one, small group, and large group activities to build key preschool skills, ensuring every child is prepared for future learning milestones. TIGER PRIDE EXPECTATIONS: Promoting our core values of safety, responsibility, respect, and always doing our best! PARENT
- TEACHER COMMUNICATION: Parent-teacher conferences are held twice per year. In addition, regular communication is maintained through monthly newsletters and class Facebook pages.
- FAMILY CONNECTION: Families will have the opportunity for a one-on-one meeting with their teacher in August, helping to build strong relationships and ensure a smooth transition into the school year.
- PHYSICAL EDUCATION: 4-year-old preschoolers attend weekly PE classes, promoting health and motor skills.
- FUELING LEARNING: Students enjoy a healthy snack each day, paired with milk or juice, to support their growth, energy, and focus for learning.
- CELEBRATIONS: Students enjoy festive activities like trick-or-treating, as well as holiday parties, and fun dress-up days throughout the school year. Preschoolers also participate in school community events, including Homecoming celebrations, assemblies, and connecting with high school buddies. Birthday celebrations add an extra touch of joy throughout the year!
Curriculum
We assess all preschool students twice a year using Creative Curriculum Teaching Strategies GOLD, a comprehensive framework that promotes whole-child development. This curriculum emphasizes key areas such as social-emotional growth, physical development, language skills, cognitive abilities, and foundational academics, including literacy, mathematics, science and technology, and social studies.
Wraparound Care
The Iowa Valley Community School District is currently exploring the potential for daycare wraparound services beginning in the fall of 2025. Should these services become available, more information will be shared in the spring of 2025.
